Our Open Space Protection Goals
{spacer}
  • Conserve lots of green space in perpetuity for our enjoyment and that of our children.

    We seek to protect hundreds of sites across the North Shore, ranging from small lots that give a community its character to large landscapes of hundreds of acres (both private lands and future parks).

  • Foster a conservation ethic across the villages of the North Shore.

    We seek to build awareness and concern about the rapid loss of open space in our communities and, equally as important, a sense of what can really be done to limit development and protect open space in perpetuity.

  • Help organize village-based conservation efforts - people seeking to protect their quality of life.

    The most effective conservation is rooted in local community belief that open space must be protected in order to protect the community and its values. We want to help local villages organize their own efforts to protect their own open space.

  • Enlist support from other conservation oriented organizations and governments.

    We want to collaborate closely with other like-minded organizations in the pursuit of conservation. Together we will be more effective in protecting open space. There is more need and opportunity for conservation than any single group can meet.
