    Hofstra University Sustainability Student Josh Grossman Joins Land Alliance as Summer Intern Josh grew up right on Long Island and is studying Sustainability Studies at Hofstra University. He will be entering his senior year at Hofstra this fall, and will be receiving his B.S in Sustainability Studies next spring. He hopes to one day be able to live and work on Long Island in order to make his home a better place for the future. Josh is proficient in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and will be helping the Land Alliance with mapping projects, ordinance review and a variety of stewardship efforts. He knows how to roll up his sleeves and get the job done. He was also tremendously helpful with the opening of the Wawapek Preserve. Contact Us!     North Shore Land Alliance is Pleased to Welcome Amanda Furcall As One of Our 2015 Summer Interns. Amanda’s skills and experience in designing and conducting research studies, invasive species management, biological surveys and environmental education have made her an ideal fit for both managing native planting areas and invasives in the meadow at Hope Goddard Iselin Preserve and partnering with Becca Robbins, another intern, to develop a management plan for James Preserve. Amanda completed her Bachelor of Science degree in conservation biology at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in spring 2013 and her Masters of Public Administration, with a Concentration in Nonprofit Management, last year.
