Youth Nature Program: Bug Hotel Craft (ages 7-12)

On Long Island, many species of bugs are dependent on our ecosystem for food and shelter. Bugs, like ladybugs, beetles, pill bugs, and even caterpillars, like to live in plant matter that can be found on the ground. Using recycled toilet paper rolls or milk carton containers, kids will take pine cones, moss, grass, leaves, sticks, and pebbles to make a bug hotel to keep in their own backyard and learn about bugs and how they benefit our ecosystem.
