Naomi Caplin Joins the Land Alliance 2026 O’Neil Conservation Steward Program
The Land Alliance is delighted to welcome Naomi to the 2026 O’Neil Conservation Steward Program. She is one of four exceptional interns selected to participate in the Land Alliance’s college internship program, made possible through the generous support of the Joyce C. and William C. O’Neil Charitable Trust.
The internship will begin the first week of June and run through August. Throughout the summer, our O’Neil Stewards will conduct plant surveys and wildlife inventories, maintain trails, manage invasive species, assist with monitoring conservation easements and lead environmental education programs for children.
Naomi is currently a student at Wellesley College, working toward a degree in both Political Science and Environmental Studies. Her prior experience includes working on regenerative farming in Italy and her Girl Scout Gold Award Project: planting a native perennial pollinator garden on the Port Washington Bay Walk.
About the William C. and Joyce C. O’Neil Conservation Steward Program
Thanks to the Joyce C. and William C. O’Neil Charitable Trust, North Shore Land Alliance launched a formal internship program. Through this competitive program, qualified college students gain valuable conservation-related skills, including writing management plans for preserves, mapping trails, organizing volunteer and fundraising events, managing invasive plants, installing a woodland trail at Wawapek and educating the public about conservation.
