In spring, Gianna Werle completed her Girl Scouts Gold Award Project with the Land Alliance by installing bat boxes at our Humes Preserve. Continuing her initiative, she is now organizing an educational workshop to foster interest and compassion for local bats, where she will discuss their benefits, dispel misconceptions, emphasize their importance in our community and ecosystems, and highlight their positive impact on humans. The workshop will conclude with a nature hike around the Preserve, showcasing the newly installed bat boxes.
