O'Neil Stewards Pulling Invasive Vegetation

Event Details

Mugwort Management Volunteer Event
Friday, June 21, 2024, 10:00 AM
Humes Preserve (meet at the meadow steps)
349 Oyster Bay Road, Locust Valley

The Humes Meadow is starting to grow which means the mugwort is growing too. Bring your weedwhacker and help cut back the mugwort!  Repeated cutting of mugwort can help weaken clumps over time and allow the native plants around it to compete. Before we go out into the meadow we can go over what mugwort looks like for anyone who doesn’t know, and how to avoid ticks while out in the tall grass.
