Gardening with native plants has many benefits like water conservation, healthier soil and restoring habitat. Rusty Schmidt, one of Long Island's premier Landscape Ecologists, will cover the basics, including the importance of pollinator and native plants in your garden, tried and true favorite species, basic layouts of gardens, general landscaping and efficiency tips, and stormwater benefits.
Participants will also have the opportunity to purchase native plants grown right here on Long Island! If you plan to purchase plants, please bring cash or a check.
