Friday, May 2, 2025, 2 PM
Education Annex, Hume Preserve
349 Oyster Bay Road, Mill Neck

Led by Darcy McDowell, Associate Director of Stewardship and Greenhouse Manager and
Carter Rogan, Volunteer Coordinator and Stewardship Associate

Have you ever taken a walk in the woods and come across a tree, flowering plant or wildlife you didn’t recognize? Join us for this interactive workshop to learn about the features of online, social-sharing nature apps such as iNaturalist, Seek, Merlin and eBird. We’ll show you how to use these apps to identify plants and wildlife, connect with other nature enthusiasts, and collect and share biodiversity data with fellow citizen scientists. The workshop will begin with a short introduction, followed by a chance to get outside and use iNaturalist in the field.

Registration will open closer to the event! To stay updated, join our email list and we’ll notify you when registration opens.  Space is limited to 25 participants.
This event is free, but advanced registration is required!  After you have registered, but before the event, we will email you to confirm your attendance and provide more detailed information.  If you are unable to attend, please contact us, as this will help us register those on the waiting list.
