Water reuse – using water again for some beneficial purpose before discharge – has the potential to be an important water quality and quantity strategy to help protect Long Island’s vulnerable sole source aquifer. It is a tried and true strategy in many other communities in the United States. This discussion will talk about the value of current reuse projects and the potential water reuse has, as evidenced by the Islandwide Water Reuse Roadmap prepared by the Seatuck Environmental Association, in safeguarding our groundwater supply and coastal waters.
