    Annual Garden Members Planting Day Saturday, May 18, 2024 @ 11:30 am Roosevelt Community Garden 59 E. Fulton Avenue, Roosevelt, NY Members of the Roosevelt Community Garden are warmly welcomed to participate in our yearly planting event at the garden. The day will commence with an engaging Square Foot Gardening Workshop, succeeded by the planting of various cool-weather crops in their designated plots. Registration is necessary for the Square Foot Gardening Workshop.     Discover the History and Heritage of Youngs Farm Thursday, June 27, 2024, 5:00 pm Youngs Farm, Old Brookville Led by Tim Dooley As harvest time approaches, Tim will lead us on a tour of one of Nassau County’s most treasured family farms. Founded in 1893, Youngs Farm is a certified organic, family-run farm, kitchen and market, currently managed by the 4th and 5th generations of the family. The farm stand carries a wide range of produce, baked goods, prepared foods and pantry items, all of which rotate seasonally. As harvest time approaches, Tim will lead us on a tour of one of Nassau County’s most treasured family farms. Registration will be available as the date approaches. This event is free, but advanced registration is required!  Before the event, we will email you to confirm your attendance and provide more detailed information.  If you are unable to attend, please contact us, as this will help us register those on the waiting list. Orienteering is like a treasure hunt in the woods using a map to find controls (box-shaped flags) hanging from trees. We’ll give instructions and then you can go out alone or with friends.
